Getting Started with Forkto

A quick orientation to Forkto — how the app is organised, what the menu sections mean, and how to find your way around.

Forkto is your digital food-safety and operations record book. It replaces paper
diaries and folders with one place to log temperatures, complete checks, track
stock, record production, and keep the evidence an inspector or auditor might ask
for. This article gives you the lay of the land so you know where to find things.

Signing in

Open Forkto in your browser at your business’s address, or use the iOS / Android
app
. Enter your email (or username) and password. If you’re on a shared tablet,
your manager may set you up with a quick PIN instead — see
Shared Devices & Kiosk Mode.

After signing in you land on the Dashboard, which shows what
still needs doing today and quick links to the jobs you do most.

Finding your way around

Everything is reached from the sidebar menu, grouped by the job you’re doing:

  • Production — receiving goods and making products: Intakes, Recipes,
    Products, Production, Dispatches, Allergens.
  • Records — your day-to-day compliance logs: Temps, Checks, Food Temps,
Clock In/Out, My Schedule, Issues, Wastage.
  • Reports — management views: Monitoring, Reports, Daily Dash.
  • Calculators — tools for quick maths: Scratch Cards, Profit Margin.
  • Business — setup and documents: Check Forms, HACCP Plans, Audits,
Complaints, Files, PDF Builder, Training, Staff Rota, Announcements.
  • Settings — your account, team, locations, and suppliers.

You’ll only see the sections your business uses. If something you expect is
missing, ask your administrator.

Locations and departments

Every record belongs to a location (a site or premises). If your business
runs more than one site, use the location selector to switch between them; you’ll
only see and add records for the location you’re viewing. Larger teams can also
be split into departments for finer organisation. Set these up under Settings —
see Locations and Departments.
