Products

Learn how to produce, track, and label products from your recipes in Forkto.

The Products section in Forkto is where you produce finished products from your recipes. When you run a production, stock is consumed from your inventory and a product record is created with batch tracking, expiry dates, and label information.

Overview

When you open the Products page, you’ll see:

  • Batches — production batches grouping related products together.
  • Products — individual product records.
  • A date range filter to view products from the last 7, 14, 30, or 90 days.

Producing a Product

To create a product from a recipe:

  1. Go to the Recipes page and click ‘Produce Product’ on the recipe card.
  2. The production form opens, showing the recipe’s ingredients and quantities required.
  3. For each ingredient, select which stock booking to use — the dropdown shows available stock with quantities. Ingredients with insufficient stock are highlighted in red.
  4. Set the Use-By Date for the finished product.
  5. Submit to create the product.

The product is created and the stock is consumed from the selected bookings.

Product Details

Each product record shows:

  • Quantity and Weight — how many units and the total weight.
  • Important Dates — when it was created and the use-by date. Overdue products are flagged with a warning.
  • Product Details — barcode, storage information, who produced it, the location, and the batch ID.
  • Box Information (if set on the recipe) — box barcode and how many products per box.

Printing Labels

To print labels for a product:

  1. Open the product and click ‘Print’.
  2. Choose a label template from the dropdown.
  3. Print either a Product Label (individual) or a Box Label (for cases).

Labels include the product info, barcode, batch ID, expiry date, ingredients list with percentages, and allergens highlighted in bold.

Product Traceability

Admins and auditors can view a Full Trace for any product — this links to the Reports section showing the complete traceability chain from raw materials through to the finished product.

Managing Products

Products can be managed with the following status actions:

  • Mark Out of Stock — when all units have been sold or used.
  • Mark Archived — to hide from the default view.
  • Mark Recalled — to flag a product as recalled.

Auditor Access

If your account has the Auditor role, you can view products and their traceability but cannot create or edit them.

Produce products from your recipes to maintain batch traceability, generate accurate labels, and keep a clear record of what was made, when, and from which stock.
