Wastage

Log and review wasted stock or products with a reason, quantity, and unit so losses are tracked over time.

Wastage Records lets you log anything that had to be thrown away — spoiled ingredients, over-produced food, damaged packaging — and keeps a searchable history so you can spot patterns and report on losses. Find it in the sidebar under Records → Wastage. Available if the Wastage module is on for your account.

Logging a wastage entry

  1. Select Log Wastage in the top-right corner.
  2. Choose a Wastage Type * — Ingredient, Meat, Packaging, or Prepared Food.
  3. Optionally, pick from the Stock Item dropdown to pre-fill the item name from your stock list.
  4. Enter the Item Name *, then the Quantity * and Unit (kg, g, portions, units, liters, ml — or units, boxes, bags, rolls for packaging).
  5. Select a Reason * — Expired, Spoiled, Damaged, Overproduction, Customer Return, or Other.
  6. Add any Notes if useful.
  7. Select Log Wastage to save.

Filtering the list

Filter the list using the controls in the page header:

  • Date range — Last 7, 14, 30, or 90 days (default is 30 days).
  • Type filter — show only one wastage type.
  • Reason filter — show only one reason.

The search box on the data table also lets you filter by item name or any other column.

Summary cards

At the top of the page, four cards give a quick count of records in the current filter window: Total Records, Ingredients, Meat, and Prepared Food.
